Thunder Bay, Ontario native honored for a second time
IRVING, Tx. – Emma Lockyer was named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week Wednesday by the league office following excellent performances last weekend at the Virginia Technotational.
Lockyer posted three lifetime-bests and her 400 IM-winning time (4:17.26) was the second-fastest time in Conference USA this season and the second-fastest in Marshall history. She also won the 200 Breaststroke (2:18.62-fourth-fastest in school history) and was second in the 200 IM (2:03.12, the fourth-fastest in Marshall history). Lockyer’s time of 1:05.73 in the 100 Breaststroke was also the fastest of her career.
The Thunder Bay, Ohio native earned the honor earlier this season (December 6) after an impressive weekend at the Tennessee Invitational.
Marshall Swimming and Diving will next compete at the Conference USA Championships (February 21-24) at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
